This paper reviews solutions to mitigate the effects of the brain drain phenomenon in developing countries. The creation of emigrant networks, facilitation of communication by internet between emigrant communities and the countries of origin, and incentives for the investments of the expats in their home countries are mentioned as preconditions to leveraging their potential. Some examples of successful programs dedicated to the implication of the emigrant specialists in the development of their home countries are provided.
